Now and then you come upon a house that simply seems to fit. Complementing its owners’ lives and tastes, the home occupies the land and the neighborhood comfortably, as if it has been there forever. Proportions, details, materials and quality of workmanship make every line and corner feel almost inevitable. Antiques and modern technologies, dramatic artworks and relaxing gardens coexist within an easy continuum of past and present.

With care and creativity, David Jones Architects crafts such houses.

Working from a studio atop a townhouse in Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood, David Jones Architects designs houses that fit throughout the Washington area and beyond.

Architect David Jones’s background includes undergraduate and professional degrees from Princeton; study at King’s College, Cambridge; and work with Washington’s Hartman-Cox Architects. A staff of talented architects work with David to guide each project, and each owner, through the processes of initial decision-making, preliminary and final design, construction drawings, builder selection and contract administration.

For over thirty years the firm has maintained a national reputation, receiving design awards with regularity along with feature articles in Traditional Home, Period Homes, Veranda and Architectural Digest.
